Prior to setting up her private practice at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore, in 2010, Dr Andrea Rajnakova practiced at National University Hospital since 1995.  Dr Rajnakova joined National University Hospital and National University of Singapore as a NUS PhD scholar in 1995.  She completed PhD thesis on Gastric Cancer in 2000.  The results of her research studies were published in multiple international journals and she actively presented her research at international conferences.  Dr Rajnokova's research work was awarded by several prestigious awards such as The Young Doctor’s Research Award at NUH Inaugural Annual Scientific Meeting, Singapore, in 1997 and the Best Paper Award for oral presentation at the Nitric Oxide Symposium in Singapore in 1999.  In 2009, she was a Winner of Best Oral Presentation in Medical Disciplines at 8th Annual Scientific Congress of National Health Group in 2009.

During Dr Rajnokavo's clinical posting at National University Hospital, she obtained Master of Internal Medicine in Singapore, Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK, MRCP and the Fellowship of the Academy of Singapore in Gastroenterology (FAMS).  Dr Rajnakova’s passion and main interest is in therapeutic endoscopy.  In 2008 she was awarded a Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) by the Ministry of Health Singapore for further training in Therapeutic Endoscopy and ERCP at European Endoscopic Training Center, Gemelli Hospital in Rome, Italy under Professor Guido Costamagna, President of European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.  Her clinical expertise and passion for her work and patients were recognized by several clinical awards.  In 2008, she received the National Excellent Service EXSA Star Award.  In 2007, Dr Rajnakova received the NUH Sunny-Side-Up Award, NUH Sunny-Side-Up Wow Award and Excellent Service Gold Award. Dr Rajnokova as a clinical tutor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine enjoyed also teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students.  She was also a mentor and endoscopy trainer for advanced specialists and endoscopy trainees.  She was appointed as a chief coordinator for clinical part of postgraduate exams in Internal Medicine MRCP PACES in 2009.
