He is the Chairman of the National Foundation for Digestive Disease, the Secretary of the Chapter of Gastroenterology, College of Physicians of Singapore, Social Chairperson of the Organising committee of the Asia Pacific Digestive Disease Week 2011, Member of the Scientific Committee of the Asia Pacific Association of Liver Disease Meeting 2013.  He was also Scientific Chairman of the Gastroenterological Society of Singapore and Editor of GutViews.  He currently sits in the Ministry of Health Singapore Workgroups on Hepatitis B and Hepatocellular Carcinoma and the Asia Pacific Association for Study of Liver (APASL) Working Party on Portal Hypertension and Acute Variceal Bleeding.
