Dr Tan Ter Chyan tends to patients with injuries of the hand and wrist, ranging from minor injury to more complex and serious wounds affecting the tendons, nerves and arteries.  His clinical interest is in peripheral nerve surgery, especially brachial plexus surgery, stroke, cerebral palsy and surgical rehabilitation of the upper limb in tetraplegia. His other clinical interest is in minimally invasive surgery of the hand and upper limb especially wrist arthroscopy and endoscopic peripheral nerve surgery.

Awarded 2006 Higher Manpower Development Program Fellowship for postgraduate training at the Dept. of Hand & Peripheral Nerve Surgery at the Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney.

Dr Tan Ter Chyan's research interest is in the field of nerve regeneration and bioelectrics and he works closely with scientists in the Singapore Institute of Neurotechnology.  He has published his clinical and basic science research and spoken at local, regional and international meetings.
