Dr Anselm Lee Chi Wai is a paediatrician with special interest in paediatric haematology and oncology with over 20 years of experience.  In 1992, he carried out the first successful transplantation for thalassaemia in Hong Kong. Prof William Yip Chin Ling also has had a major contribution to paediatric cardiology in Singapore. He is responsible for the development of cardiac service in echocardiography, interventional cardiac procedures and research in the University Department of Paediatrics at Singapore General Hospital and National University of Singapore. Prof Yip pioneered the first series and introduced the service of balloon valvuloplasty and angioplasty, device occlusion of patent arterial ducts, secundum atrial septal defects and ventricular septal defects, foetal echocardiography and intraoperative transoesophageal echocardiography in Singapore.

Prof William Yip is also responsible for teaching of paediatric cardiology to undergraduate and postgraduate students and proctoring paediatric cardiologists in transoesophageal echocardiography and interventional procedures, and teaching foetal echocardiography to paediatric cardiologists and obstetricians.

He is the supervisor of Master of Science, MD, and PhD candidates of the National University of Singapore and has published 191 research papers in international and regional medical journals, 254 conference papers and 14 books/ chapters/ thesis in cardiology and paediatric topics.

Has been frequently invited to lecture in international and regional medical seminars and conferences. For the recognition of contribution in the field of paediatric cardiology, was awarded the 2009 Singapore Cardiac Society Lectureship. Prof William Yip Chin Ling also represented Singapore as an active participant of Asia Pacific Society of Paediatric Cardiology under the Asia Pacific Congress of Cardiology in the past 20 years; was Chairman organising the 2004 Meeting in Singapore; and country representative of the newly founded Asia Pacific Society of Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery in Bangkok since 2006.
