Professional Statement
Dr. Leslie Kuek graduated with a basic medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 1981 and obtained his advanced surgery degrees from the Royal Colleges of Edinburgh & Glasgow in 1986. In 1989, he won the Young Surgeon’s Award for best scientific research. He further advanced his skills in plastic surgery training at the Department of Plastic Surgery, University of Tokyo, Japan & Taipei Chang Gung Hospital, Taiwan. He worked in the department of Plastic Surgery in Singapore General Hospital from 1986 to 1995 before he began his private practice at the Gleneagles Medical Centre.
Dr. Leslie Kuek is a pioneer in the development of Plastic Surgery in Singapore. He was instrumental in developing the Breast Reconstruction & Facial Paralysis Reconstruction programs in the Department of Plastic Surgery of Singapore General Hospital. Moreover, he was also a clinical teacher and lecturer in Plastic Surgery to trainee medical students and nurses.
As a senior member of the Plastic Surgery community, Dr. Leslie Kuek is much sought after by TV and Radio Media, as well as local and foreign magazines and newspapers for his opinions and ideas on issues pertaining to the field of Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery. He has given, and continues to give numerous lectures and public talks on Plastic Surgery both in Singapore and overseas.

Professional Statement
Dr Lim Khong Hee graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1992. He obtained his postgraduate degree in 1998 and was a Clinical Fellow (HMDP) in Upper Gastrointestinal and Laparoscopic Surgery at the renowned Princess Alexandra Hospital (Brisbane) in 2002. He was admitted to the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in the Specialty of General Surgery in 2004. He also became a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine (Singapore) in 2004.
Prior to establishing his private practice, Dr Lim was the Chief of the Upper Gastrointestinal Service and Senior Consultant in the Department of General Surgery, Tan Tock Seng Hospital. During his tenure as the Director of the Centre for Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Dr Lim encouraged the development of complex and cutting-edge laparoscopic skills and techniques as well as led the organisation of basic, advanced and masterclass laparoscopic courses. He had also established network with international centres of excellence such as Seoul National University Bundang Hospital and International Endoscopic Obesity Centre, in E-Da Hospital (Taiwan).
Dr Lim has had wide exposure to upper gastrointestinal and advanced laparoscopic procedures such as radical gastric resections with systematic lymphadenectomy, laparoscopic fundoplication, and laparoscopic surgery for morbid obesity. He has also gained much experience in both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy (including ERCP). Dr Lim was actively involved in the teaching of basic and advanced surgical trainees and was the Programme Co-ordinator for the Introduction to Colonoscopy Programme (Virtual Reality-based). He was also a Clinical Lecturer in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and an Examiner in the Final Professional Examination for the Degrees of MBBS.
Dr Lim was the Track Leader for the Laparoscopy Symposium within the National Healthcare Group (NHG) Annual Scientific Congress 2008 and a Clinical Tutor for the Exit Exam Preparatory Course 2009 and 2010 organised by the Chapter of General Surgeons. In addition, Dr Lim is a reviewer in the Annals, Academy of Medicine, Singapore as well as the Singapore Medical Journal. He has been an invited Speaker and Chairperson for numerous local and regional meetings. Dr Liau Kui Hin is a general surgeon practising at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Parkway East Hospital. His primary clinical expertise is in the specialised care of liver cancer, gallbladder and bile duct cancers and pancreatic cancer, gallstones diseases and benign liver, biliary and pancreatic disorders.
Dr Liau is an accredited surgeon with more than 18 years of clinical experience in diagnosing and treating digestive cancers (especially liver cancer, gall bladder cancer, bile duct cancer, pancreatic cancer and carcinoid or neuroendocrine cancer), surgical infections and gastrointestinal diseases. His other subspecialty interests are surgical infection, soft tissue sarcoma and neuro-endocrine oncology. Dr Jeffrey Chew Tec Hock has about 20 years of experience in his specialisation. His special interests are in managing arthritis and performing hip and knee joint replacements. He also manages sports injuries including ligament reconstructions.
Dr Jeffrey Chew had received several scholarships to conduct biomechanics research and won numerous awards for his research work. Dr Jeffrey Chew collaborated with Johnson and Johnson Medical to co-design the PFC Sigma RPF High Flex Knee prosthesis, especially for the Asian population. This knee implant design allows both increased flexion angles as well as imparting higher stability at high flexion angles e.g. during squatting postures. It is the only Mobile Bearing High Flexed knee prosthesis that is currently approved for use by the FDA.

Professional Statement
Dr Ho Siew Hong graduated from the National University of Singapore before obtaining his fellowships in surgery from the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Glasgow as well as being admitted to the International College of Surgeons. He completed advanced urology specialty training in Singapore and was conferred membership to the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
He spent a year in Westmead Hospital, Sydney, Australia as a fellow in the endourology and laparoscopy. Returning to Singapore, he served as a consultant urologist, initiating and developing percutaneous and laparoscopic urological surgery. In pursuit of his interest in advanced laparoscopy, he further trained in Institut Mutualiste Monstsouris, Paris, France in techniques of extra peritoneal laparoscopic radical prostatectomy.
Dr. Ho is active in research and teaching; having numerous presentations and publications in regional and international peer reviewed journals. He is a reviewer for the Indian Journal of Urology. He is a clinical teacher and examiner for National University of Singapore, Nanyang Polytechnic and Edith Cowan University of Western Australia (off-campus).
He has lectured and performed live-surgical workshops in many countries in Asia. He has trained many urologists from Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines and India, under the SUA fellowship program.

Professional Statement
Dr Seow Kang Hong is an orthopaedic surgeon with about 25 years of experience in the field. He currently practices at his clinics at Mount Elizabeth, Mount Elizabeth Novena and Parkway East Hospitals and specialises in the treatment of knee and hip-related conditions, performing about 150 knee and hip-related surgeries each year.
Dr Seow graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (MBBS) in 1974. Following that, he underwent basic training, completed specialty training and was subsequently admitted as a Fellow to the Royal College of Surgeons in Orthopaedic Surgery (FRCS Edinburgh and Glasgow). Later, he was inducted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine (Orthopaedic Surgery), Singapore in 1984.
Prior to setting up his private practice, Dr Seow joined the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) as a consultant in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in 1989. He was appointed Deputy Head of the department in 1998 and was concurrently appointed as Director to its Adult Reconstruction Service till 2002, where he was instrumental in bringing the department to new heights. While at SGH, Dr Seow has participated actively as a committee member with the Rehabilitation Centre Advisory Committee and the Blood Transfusion Committee.
Besides his commitment to his clinic and patients, Dr Seow spends time teaching and training the physicians and Orthopaedic surgeons of the future. He currently serves as Clinical Teacher and Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine at the National University of Singapore and appointed supervisor for Advanced Specialty Training Programmes with the Academy of Medicine. He has also previously served as Honorary Professor to the Qingdao 2nd People’s Hospital, China in 1997.
In addition to that, Dr Seow’s vast knowledge and expertise in orthopaedic surgery has taken him to various overseas conferences in China, Vietnam, Pakistan and India where he has presented at events such as the Annual Scientific Meeting, the Shanghai Hip and Knee Symposium and the Scientific Meeting for the Arthroplasty Society. Professional Statement
Dr Razmi completed his postgraduate degree in 1996. He has received MOH scholarships to further his surgical skills development in basic surgery and orthopaedic surgery, and was subsequently awarded a clinical fellowship at the Spinal Unit, Department of Orthopaedic and Trauma, Royal Adelaide Hospital in Adelaide, Australia.
Dr Razmi has published several reputable peer reviewed spine journals, presented at many international meetings and is a member of the AOSpine International, an association dedicated in improving spine patient surgical outcomes and ensuring cost effective spine surgery.
In 2003, he was selected to represent Singapore in the Junior ASEAN Orthopaedic Travelling Fellowship, where he spent a month travelling around the ASEAN region to share as well as learn with the leading surgeons in the region. Despite his busy schedule, Dr Razmi makes time for voluntary work. He provided medical coverage for Singapore.
Haj pilgrims in 1991, 1992, 1994 and 2000. His current research interests are in repair and regeneration of diseased spinal discs using autologous chondrocytes transplantation. He has collaborated with the Adelaide Centre for Spinal Research for this work.

Professional Statement
Dr Michael Soon graduated from the National University of Singapore School of Medicine in 1997 and completed his orthopaedic training in Singapore. He was subsequently awarded a Ministry of Health scholarship to further his surgical skills in 2006. His clinical fellowship was at Mutualidad de Futbolista, Barcelona Spain, where he was also trained in his subspeciality. He was involved in the clinical and surgical care of soccer players, which included the top soccer players of FC Barcelona and Europe. Apart from being involved in surgeries, Dr Soon was also trained in the use of PRGF (platelet-rich in growth factors), which was pioneered in Spain and used for the treatment of sports injuries.
Further to his fellowship, Dr Soon was also attached to Rush University Medical Centre, Chicago, Illinois where he was trained in cartilage preservation and restoration, and shoulder surgery. Apart from clinical work, Dr Soon was also heavily involved in teaching and training of doctors and nurses. He lectured at the Alice Lee Centre of Nurses for the Master of Nursing Critical Care. He is also an instructor for the ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support). He is an instructor at ISAKOS arthroscopic courses and has been a Faculty Instructor for the Arthrocare knee and shoulder courses since 2007.
Dr Soon is keen on research and was awarded the Young Orthopaedic Investigator of the Year in 2004 for his work on allograft and stem cells. This work, together with his other research works in sports surgery, were published and presented both locally and overseas. Dr Soon is currently a co-investigator of a NMRC grant for the treatment of osteoarthritis with mesenchymal stem cells.
Dr Soon performs mainly arthroscopic reconstructions of the knee and shoulder. His special interest is in joint preservation, which includes cartilage restoration/transplantation, meniscal transplantation as well as use of biologics like stem cells and growth factors. Dr Chua is a practising orthopaedic surgeon and spine specialist at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital and Parkway East Hospital. He also has been appointed as visiting consultant to various restructured hospitals in Singapore.
Dr Chua completed his surgical training in Singapore and advanced his spine surgery repertoire at The Krembil Neuroscience Centre, University of Toronto, after being awarded the Health Manpower Development Program (HMDP) Scholarship by the Ministry of Health in 2009. Besides honing his technical expertise in complex spinal surgery, he was also involved in spinal cord injury and regeneration research and published several key articles and invited editorials in renowned international spine journals. He performs decompression, instrumented fusion and disc replacement surgery but he is especially sought after in Singapore for his expertise in complex spinal conditions both by patients as well as other medical colleagues. Dr Teoh graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1998 and completed his Ophthalmology training with a Masters in Ophthalmology (2003) and obtained his Fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd) and Academy of Medicine (FAMS) in 2005. He undertook dual subspecialty training in both vitreoretina (surgical and medical) and uveitis, ocular immunology and inflammation at the Bristol Eye Hospital, UK in 2006. He is also well-versed in Comprehensive Ophthalmology including complex cataract surgeries, refractive surgery with wavefront, toric and multifocal IOLs, and pterygium excision with conjunctival graft (fibrin glue). He still runs uveitis and vitreoretinal clinics at the Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Khoo Teck Puat and the Communicable Disease Centre. Dr Teoh was also an Ophthalmic Advisor to the Harvard Medical School AIDS Initiative in Vietnam (HAIVN) CMV Retinitis Project since 2009-2012.
Dr Teoh is currently a Senior Consultant, the Head of Uveitis service and immediate past Head of Research and Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Professional Statement
Dr Tay Miah Hiang was a Consultant Oncologist at the National Cancer Centre (NCC) before he left for private practice at OncoCare Cancer Centre. During his tenure at NCC, he had won numerous awards for his excellence service.
Besides attending to cancer patients, Dr Tay is actively doing clinical and translational research in Genitourinary and other cancers. His research work has been published in both local and international journals including Urology, Cancer and Annals of Oncology.
Dr Tay is part of a six Oncology team which provides comprehensive medical oncology care. His main interest is in colon cancer, lung cancer, and genital urinary cancer. He is still actively involved in clinical trials and an invited speaker in the Asia-Pacific region.

Dr Kenneth Chan is a respiratory physician practicing at
