Dr Tan Kai Chah is a renowned liver surgeon practising at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore. He specialises in hepatobiliary surgery and liver transplants and has trained, practised and worked in the United Kingdom.

During his time in the United Kingdom, Dr Tan pioneered various liver transplant procedures for both adults and paediatric patients; these include the first ‘split-liver’ transplant, the first auxiliary liver graft, five combined liver-kidney procedures and two combined heart-liver transplant.

Dr Tan spent six years as the senior liver transplant surgeon in King’s College Hospital, London, where he trained 26 surgeons and performed more than 400 procedures. He also advised and helped implement the Irish National Liver Transplant Programme at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin.

In 1994, Dr Tan returned to Southeast Asia and set up his private practice, the Asian Centre for Liver Diseases & Transplantation (ACLDT), in Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore and the Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

From 1996 to March 2002, Dr Tan was director of the Liver Transplant Programme at Singapore’s National University Hospital, where he performed 72 transplants, both adult and paediatric. He also started a Living Donor Liver Transplant (LDLT) programme at SJMC in 1995, where he has performed more than 50 procedures before he left.

Dr Tan’s work primarily involves general hepatobiliary surgery and liver transplantation. In January 2002, Dr Tan and his team at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore were authorised to perform LDLTs. In April that same year, Dr Tan performed the first successful adult-to-adult LDLT in Southeast Asia. To date, the team in Gleneagles Hospital has performed more than 240 LDLT procedures.

Currently practising at Gleneagles Hospital Singapore, Dr Kevin Sng is trained in colorectal surgery, endoscopy, laparoscopic and general surgery.

Dr Sng went on to pursue his post-graduate training in surgery, accumulating work experience in many public institutions including Changi General Hospital, Singapore General Hospital, Tan Tock Seng Hospital and KK Women's and Children's Hospital.

Under the Health Manpower Development Plan Fellowship by the Ministry of Health, Dr Sng trained in Korea under the distinguished mentorship of Professor Kim Seon Hahn, a world-renowned robotic and laparoscopic colorectal surgeon. Dr Sng obtained his Certificate of Completion for the International Fellowship for Robotic & Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery at the Korea University Anam Hospital in Seoul, Korea in 2012. Dr Sng is a registered member of the Singapore Society of Colorectal Surgeons as well as the Asia-Pacific Hernia Society.

Dr Sng was formerly Consultant and Director of Colorectal Service in Changi General Hospital (CGH). He also served as Co-Director, Centre for Advanced Clinical and Surgical Skills, as well as a member of the Laparoscopic Procedures Credentialling Committee in CGH. Dr Sng was appointed Clinical Senior Lecturer by the National University of Singapore Medical School in 2012 and has served as an examiner for the Final Professional Examination for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degrees. Dr Jude Lee is a General Surgeon practicing at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, who is particularly adept at Basic and Advanced Minimally Invasive Gastrointestinal Surgery. Dr Lee has demonstrated great interest in research, publishing papers in peer reviewed journals and serving as Principal Investigator of the AHCC06 trial, a multi-centre, open-label, randomised controlled trial that compares the outcomes of two established treatments for locally-advanced liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma) in order to determine which treatment is more effective. Dr Julian Ong is a Consultant Surgeon at Colorectal Surgeons, Inc. (CSI). His areas of interest are in endoscopy and in minimally invasive surgery, particularly in laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer. Dr Ong also focuses on the management of all other colorectal conditions and surgery for perianal conditions. Dr Ong has performed many colon and rectal surgeries in both laparoscopic and open techniques. He is an accredited console surgeon in robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery. In addition, Dr Ong also has an interest in the field of trauma surgery, being an accredited instructor in the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) training program.

After graduating with a medical degree from the National University of Singapore, Dr Ong fulfilled his years of residency and proceeded to complete his fellowships in the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He earned his Master’s Degree of Medicine (Surgery) from the National University of Singapore, Faculty of Medicine. He is also a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, Chapter of General Surgeons.

Dr Tan Yu Meng was trained in advanced hepatobiliary surgery and liver transplantation at the world renowned Liver Unit of Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, UK. He furthered his skills in living donor liver transplantation under the guidance of Professor K Kanaka in Japan.  He led a team to perform the first successful spilt liver transplant at SGH in 2007 and the first combined Heart-Liver Transplantation in Asia in 2009.

Dr Ngoi graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1981 and was admitted as Fellow to the Royal College of Surgeons (Glasgow) in1985, Fellow to the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and completed Master of Medicine (surgery) (Singapore) in 1986.

Dr Ho Choon Kiat is an accredited consultant hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgeon with more than 15 years of clinical experience. He specialises in the diagnosis and management of diseases of the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts and the pancreas. Dr Ooi graduated with his medical degree (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore in 1992 and became a surgical fellow of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Ireland (FRCSEd, FRCSGlag, FRCSI) in 1996. He then received his training in colorectal surgery at the Department of Colorectal Surgery at the Singapore General Hospital. Dr Ng Kheng Hong graduated from the National University of Singapore with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. He was admitted as a member to the Royal College of Surgeon (Edinburgh) in 2002. In the following year, he attained his Master of Medicine in General Surgery. In 2004, he was posted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom, as a specialist registrar in General Surgery.

Dr Teoh Tiong Ann graduated from the National University of Singapore with the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, under a Singapore Government Public Service Commission Merit Scholarship. He then went on to train in General Surgery and was awarded a Singapore Government Fellowship leading to a Masters of Medicine in Surgery. He later obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. After completing his advanced training, Dr Teoh became a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore.

Dr Wong Nan Yaw is a General Surgeon with clinical interest in the colorectal surgeon. He completed his MBBS from the National university of Singapore in 1993. After a few years of practice, he developed a passionate interest in surgical diseases and decided to embark on a career in surgery and since 2008, Dr Wong Nan Yaw has started his own private practice at the Mount Elizabeth Medical Center.

His practice focuses on the diagnosis and therapy of both benign and malignant conditions of the colon, rectum and anus. This includes diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy for the early detection of cancers, the surgical treatment of hemorrhoids (piles), perianal abscesses and fistulae, and surgery of colorectal cancers.

Dr Wong Nan Yaw successfully obtained his Fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 1998. The increasing incidence of colorectal cancers in South East Asia prompted him to sub-specialize in colorectal surgery.

Dr Sujit Singh Gill is the director and consultant surgeon at The Vascular and General Surgery Centre. Dr Gill is well known for his expertise in the South East Asia region.
