Professional Statement
Dr Timothy Lim Yong Kuei is a Specialist
in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with a special interest in the management of
gynaecological cancers. Though his key interests are in laparoscopic surgery,
complex pelvic surgery and the prevention and treatment of gynaecological
cancers, he also provides antenatal care to expectant mothers and manages a
wide range of gynaecological conditions including endometriosis, fibroids and
ovarian cysts.
He graduated from the National University of
Singapore in 1998 and obtained his post-graduate qualifications in O&G from
the Royal College of O&G, London in 2003. He started his gynaecological
oncology fellowship training in the Department of Gynaecological Oncology, KKH
under A/Prof Philip Yam in 2006 and was awarded the prestigious Health Manpower Development Programme of MOH(HMDP) award
to train in minimally invasive gynaecological cancer surgery in France under
the tutelage of the famous Prof Denis Querleu in 2008. He has also obtained the
Masters in Law (LLM) in Medical Law and Ethics at the University of Edinburgh
in 2016.
Dr Timothy Lim Yong Kuei was the Head and Senior Consultant
Gynaecologist of the Department of Gynaecological Oncology, KKH from 2014 to
2019 as well as the Deputy Chairman of the Division of O&G, KKH from
October 2015 to 2019. He was instrumental in developing minimally invasive
gynae-cancer surgery to be a standard of care in KKH as well as starting the
ICG-NIR sentinel lymph node biopsy services for endometrial cancers since 2016.
He performed the first laparoscopic Wertheim’s radical hysterectomy for
cervical cancer in 2009, a series of fertility sparing abdominal radical
trachelectomy for early cervical cancer in KKH since 2011 as well as the first
ICG- NIR sentinel lymph node biopsy for early endometrial cancer in Dec 2015.
He also introduced digital colposcopy services in the management of preinvasive
diseases in the colposcopy suites, KKH in 2016.
He was also the Academic Vice-Chair of Research
in the Singhealth O&G Academic Clinical Program (ACP) from April 2018 to
2019. As a clinical researcher, he has authored and co-authored more than 40 peer reviewed papers. He was also the
principal investigator in several multicentre HPV vaccine clinical trials as
well as co-investigator in several multicentre chemotherapy trials in KK
hospital. He sits in the editorial board of the World Journal of Clinical Cases
and Journal of Cancer Metastasis and Treatment (JCMT) and is an associate
editor of the Singapore Journal of O&G. His main research interests are in
cancers of the genital tract as well as complex pelvic surgery including
advanced laparoscopic and robotic cancer surgery.
Dr Timothy Lim Yong Kuei is dedicated to medical education to both
undergraduates and O&G residents. He was an adjunct Associate Professor at
the YLL Medical School, National University of Singapore, Duke-NUS Medical
School, Singapore and the LKC School of Medicine, Singapore from 2017 to 2019.
He was a Physician Faculty member of the Singhealth O&G Residency Program
from 2012 to 2019 and was the course director of the colposcopy and management
of preinvasive diseases program in the Singhealth O&G ACP from 2016 to
2019. He is also an assessor and co-ordinator for the in Hospital clinical
training modules for colposcopy, NUS as well as a member of the JCST O&G
examination committee since 2016.
Dr Timothy Lim Yong Kuei has a strong passion in public education
especially in the prevention and treatment of gynaecological cancers and has
helped organise numerous public health talks and activities for the last
decade. He has been a volunteer doctor in the Singapore Cancer Society for many
years and is the Chairman of the Women’s Gynaecological Cancer Awareness
committee in SCS since 2014. He also dedicates his time to professional
education by serving in the councils of the O&G Society of Singapore (OGSS)
and Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology of Singapore (SCCPS) for the
last 10 years. He is the current Honorary President of the both societies since
March 2019. He was the local organising chairman of the RCOG World Congress in
March 2018 held at Suntec Convention Centre. He also served as the section head
for gynaecologic oncology in the College of O&G Singapore from 2016 to
2019.

Professional Statement
Dr Daniel Tan Yat Harn is a radiation oncologist currently practising at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore. He started his career as a radiation oncologist after graduating from the National University of Singapore in 2002.
Dr Tan trained at international medical centres with a focus on neuro-oncology. This included proton therapy at the University of Pennsylvania’s Roberts Proton Therapy Centre, USA; spine radiosurgery at Princess Margaret Hospital and Sunnybrook’s Odette Cancer Centre in Toronto; and advanced radiation technologies at Tokyo Metropolitan Komagome Hospital in Japan.
Dr Tan was the national project coordinator of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) initiative to train and develop specialists in Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), an advanced radiation technique, in the Asia-Pacific region.
He was the organising chairman of the inaugural Radiology Asia 2015, a regional radiology meeting held in conjunction with the Singapore Radiological Society’s 24th Annual Scientific Meeting. He has frequently been invited to lecture on these subjects at regional meetings such as the Philippines Radiation Oncology Society Annual Meeting, the Annual Scientific Congress of the Malaysian Oncological Society, the Asia-Pacific Breast Cancer Summit and the International Society of Geriatric Oncology Asia Pacific Conference.
Dr Tan helms the clinical unit of Asian American Radiation Oncology (AARO), the radiotherapy and oncology division of Asian American Medical Group. In collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre (UPMC), AARO manages and provides clinical supervision for radiation oncology units in Asia, bringing cutting-edge radiation technologies to developing regions.
Dr Tan is currently pursuing his MBA in Healthcare Management at NUS because he believes that good medicine depends on good management.

Dr Chia Yin Nin, currently is the head of the Gynae Cancer Unit , KK Women's and Children's Hospital. She practices as a Senior Consultant Gynaecologist as well as a Certified Gynaecological Oncologist with the Department of Gynaecological Oncology and at the KK Gynaecological Cancer Centre. Besides general gynaecology, her area of subspecialisation is gynaecological cancers in which she is a Certified Gynaecologic Oncologist with RANZCOG.
She obtained her MBBS from National University of Singapore with a distinction in O&G. She was awarded with the Hoops Medal as well as the Singapore Medical Association Bronze Medal for outstanding academic achievements. Subsequently she obtained her MRCOG from the Royal College of O&G, London and also a Diploma in Gynaecology Oncology from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of O&G.
Besides being the Vice President of the Society for Cervical Cytology and Pathology of Singapore, she is also a Co-Director of Pelvic & Peritoneal Group of National Cancer Centre.
In her medical career, she has been awarded the SGH young researcher award in year 2000, HMDP award in year 2005.
She is currently the Principle Investigator for Bayer Sorafenib Trial in ovarian cancer and co investigator for GSK HPV vaccines trial.

Dr Ching Kwok Choy is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who also specialises in Gynaecological Oncology. On the latter, he was sent by Singapore’s Ministry of Health to train at the National Cancer Centre, Tokyo, Japan and Department OB-GYN, University of Okayama, Japan, and Veteran General Hospital, Taiwan in 1886 and 1987. Professional Statement
Dr Tham Kok Fun is an obstetrics and gynaecology (O&G) specialist currently practicing in Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore. Dr Tham’s subspecialty is in gynaecological oncology.
Dr Tham received his university fellowship for the official 2-year subspecialist course in gynaecologic oncology, organised by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He worked at the Royal Marsden Hospital and St Bartholomew's Hospital in London and successfully obtained certification as a subspecialist in oncology in 1992.
Dr Tham Kok Fun was an associate professor and senior consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology, and head of the Division of Gynaecologic Oncology at the National University Hospital from 1994 to 2001 before he went into private practice. He also held the appointment of Chairman of the Gynaecologic Oncology Subcommittee, University Cancer Program from 2000 to 2001.
Active in the medical community, Dr Tham is a former vice-president of the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Singapore. He was previously a visiting consultant to the National University Hospital, Singapore. Since 2005, he has also been appointed as a visiting senior consultant to Johns Hopkins International Medical Centre, Singapore.
